Round Sheffield Run is a multi-stage trail-run race, inspired by enduro style Moutain Bike Racing. I was asked to polish up the logo and branding for this year’s event. The acorn is a symbol familiar to Sheffield runners as the symbol on Round Sheffield trail signs, so with that element in place I added the runners and a city/townscape in the background to reflect the route through the city’s parks and paths. It was also important for race organisers to have an alternative logo and type treatment, so the RSR insignia was created to work both alone and integrated into the primary design. Tee shirt design for a group who spent some time in Baja, Mexico on a missionary trip.
Race to Remember is an annual race held by Hospice of Marshall County – Shepherd’s Cove to raise money that helps HMC – SC provide quality end-of-life care to residents in North Alabama. I’ve been involved in this race for many years, beginning as a runner and moving into volunteering as well as paid work for the event. I’ve designed the tee shirts and flyers for the event for the last few years. Learn more about the Race to Remember and Hospice of Marshall County by visiting hospicemc.org.
